Best replacement battery?

My battery was dead again this morning. I suspect a couple of hours cleaning it at the weekend (doors open) and then sitting on my drive for a week did for it.

I think the battery has lost its ability to hold charge so I'd like to buy the best (and biggest) one I can find. Any recommendations?

I'm also considering the auxiliary battery installation. Anyone know who can do this?

When you buy your new battery also invest in one of these from maplin, they are having a clearance sale of them at the moment and want £9.99 a piece. Mine worked faultlessly for 3 months when the car wasn't run last year, even when the windscreen was covered in snow there was enough light to keep the charger running

To bring this one back on track... I think the battery has lost its ability to hold charge so I'd like to buy the best (and biggest) one I can find. Any recommendations?

Hi - Just bought one 2 weeks ago. Got it online and it was an Varta 110ah 920cc. Bigger than the one LR suggest at only 820cca.

Got it from the folks above with a couple of days for delivery. Great service and battery (although a tight fit) is perfect for the car. I went for the bigger 920cca for those cold mornings.

HTH

ps - They are heavy and a bit of a git to fit with one person but doable. Make sure you put the bonnet into service mode and have a small set of steps available to help git the old one out and the new one in. Ash

'Tight fit' is an understatement!!

Just put in a Bosch 110Ah / 920cca from Eurocarparts. My knuckles are skinned and my back is sore. Laughing

Hope the extra capacity will be worth it. Thumbs Up

Gents I bought a Varta I1 last year and its worked a treat up til now, think a drain has killed it as had it charged a coupel of times but keeps losing it again

Will they company replace it? (I know it was possibly my/my cars fault) Or buy another one and try sending the old one back? Naughty I know but thought I'd ask

I seem to recall that Varta batteries have a 3 year warranty. It's certainly worth a try. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Had one of those solar trickle chargers for a few years.

Only works if its plugged into a socket with constant live as I recall, so you need to plug it into the one in the boot Discovery 4 HSE
