2016/2018 exhaust

Can anyone tell me if the rear exhaust for the 2016 L405 is the same as the 2018?
Watching the PowerfulUK video on the different bumpers, it appears they are similar. Trying to mount a set of the stainless steel exhaust tips from a 2018 onto my 2016.

Hi DrF,

Here are 2 pics. my 2016 has the exhaust tips pointing down. Starting in 2018 the incorporated the stainless steel straight out pipes you can see in 2nd pic. There is also a video on youtube showing all 4 l405 bumpers and there differences. It appears the actual exhausts for the 2 are the same. Was just wondering if I could adapt the 2018 stainless exhaust tips to my 2016. Thx! M

The 2018 has a different rear bumper to that of the 2016MY only difference is to house the exhaust tips as they are fitted to he bumper itself, I have one of each (both supercharged) and have just looked at mine and i would say the tips would fit from a quick glance without adjustment. I would stick to original equipment bumper as i wouldn't want to be playing around with exhaust fumes at the rear. From what i understand its easy enough to facelift the rear bumper with original equipment bumper. Plenty have done it and there are plenty of 2018 bumpers on the web for sale cheaply. Hope that helps.

Keep us posted on your efforts and good luck. Thumbs Up

Thank you so much for the info! So technically, I could just buy the 2018 exhaust tips and retro fit them to my 2016 bumper correct? There is the video on you tube showing the 4 different bumpers but for the 2018, they just have the tips lying on top of the underside of the bumper so hard to see how they attach. Mike

Hi Sorry no you need the 2018 bumper as they fit to the bumper itself, the 2016 cant be adapted to accept the tips from a 2018.

Funnyguy, if you want to fit 2018 tips then as DrF says above, the 2018 factory standard rear bumper is completely different to your 2012-2018 and is built to house the larger tips... Thumbs Up

However! If you want to fit a 2018 "type" exhaust then you can retro fit the SVAutobiography exhaust finisher & panels to the underside of your 2012-2018 standard rear bumper! Because... JLR in there wisdom took off the 2018> rear bumper and fitted a modified 2012-2018 rear bumper to the 2018> SVAutobiography models! Go figure.........

Below is the 2018 SVA rear fitted to my car Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig,
Are the SVAutobiography tips different than the 2018 regular tips? I have been using that PowerfulUK youtube comparison showing 4 different bumpers 3 showing tips but the one i think looks best is the one we have been discussing. Very low profile.

Hi Craig,

Yes, I just figured that out, but will the 2018 bolt right in?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

Hi,

So I can't get any help from Land Rover or various body shops on whether the 2018 is interchangeable with the 2016?

Yes the 2018 bumper will bolt straight on sir but! Weather you need to change anything with your exhaust ends? I simply do not know? Thumbs Up
