Gearbox oil "lifetime"

Hi

My baby has 175`000 km now, and its runs just flawless. I am not sure about the gearbox though.....it says it has a "lifetime" oil filling...whatever this means. Would you consider to change that oil?

consensus is that the oil should be replaced around the 80k km mark so i reckon yours could do with a change..

“Lifetime”, according to LR, 60,000 miles ish according to ZF (who make the transmission!) Shocked

Leave it in there too long and fresh oil can, apparently, throw an already worn out gearbox into sharp relief.
