It depends who you are insured with. I am with NFU and had a minor bump. I told them but then decided to pay for the damage myself and they confirmed that it would not affect my premium and that proved to be true. |

Limp mode as it sounds really - you'll be able to drive, but not very fast - no real acceleration - should be OK for a short distance move, but if on a public road, you may hold other people up. |

Good that NFU let you out of a claim, but not all insurers will & it puts you into a grey area if you move insurers as technically you made a claim, even if you subsequently withdrew. Even 'worse' in your case as you have an 'accident' on record - and most insurers ask about accidents or claims in the last x years |

No it would be down a quiet lane I live out in the sticks now so won’t be holding traffic up, it’s just until I can get it sorted which will prob be in the new year now |

Best if you can repair it yourself, as most say, insuruers are a"funny" about claims. Guess it's called rip em off.

It varies, as I told LV about the incident when renewing on another car and they said that if NFU did not treat it as a claim they would not either. Maybe this helps explain why Which? rate these two insurers so highly. |

I would if it was me. I imagine all you will get is an incident number though.....in case you need it for the insurers you may or may not use.

Yours is the first RR ive seen having it nicked but there is an epidemic of vans having cats nicked! May i make a suggestion? If you think there is any chance of it happening again? Ask the garage to weld a chain to it and bolt the other end of the chain to a hidden bolt higher up! That way they can't get it off/out |

Anyone know if there have been any extraordinary improvements in factory fitted cat security in recent years, or are we all equally vulnerable? L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso |

Nothing is safe, there are aftermarket guards available for the very easy steel cats on vans.
