Thanks Stan,
I guess I'm too naive and honest, expecting others (especially forum members) to be the same. The last two cars I have sold on the forum I have detailed out every problem and how I fixed it or even if I suspect it or its known but not fixed. The "problems and suspicions" have always been reflected in the price. Buying cars at a distance you rely on the honesty and integrity of the seller to describe what you are buying. In this case it was a fair old trek from Lancashire to Kent but I paid and went to pick the car up after being told that the six year old alloys were showing signs of being, well six years old (a refurb is on my list) and this was the only issue, otherwise the car was excellent. There were a few little niggles that could have been disclosed beforehand but weren't, a couple I spotted on my visit but none were show stoppers, the fridge not working I can live with, the cover on the socket for the deployable towbar did indeed need a bit of lube, I fixed the problem of condensation in a rear light (some holes had been drilled but that didn't cure anything) and I have got a new speaker grill to replace the damaged one. Obviously the fact that the member "forgot" to mention these and the damage repair is disappointing but thats life (the internal passenger door trim occasionally comes loose on that side as well).

Obviously when I got home SWMBO quizzed me and she was more concerned that after the long journey I didn't even get a cup of tea and had to take a leak behind the garage (not invited in the house). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure not all forum members are like that, some are very helpful indeed, but if you come on to flog a car at a premium price and describe it as in excellent condition you will always be able to take advantage of a simple, trusting Northern Lad like me Very Happy Very Happy Geoff

Sorted rear light - simple
Sorted Socket cover - simple
I have a new speaker grill - waiting for some decent weather as it requires removing door trim.
Jurys out on Fridge some say it works, some say it doesn't. I have to say if I put cold cans in there at the very least it acts as an insulated, passive coolbox. Looks like a big job to attempt a fix, beyond my skillset Confused

I've also done a bit of pimping - see other posts Very Happy Geoff
