Unlikely they know. AFAIK there are closed auctions where JLR sell off the better vehicles into the dealer network. The Landrover Experience cars and other less cared for examples go to public auction, or at least used to. |

Not really - K just means it was registered in the DVLA local area around Milton 'K'eynes. Rental cars, are just allocated a number in the area that the batch of cars is registered in - usually where the manufacturer head office, rental company head office, factory area for UK built etc, is. Most Jaguar Landrover management, experience and press cars these days start with O as they are generally registered in the 'O'xford area. A lot of Special Vehicle and Factory mules are registered with a V (Worcester/Severn 'V'alley area). In earlier times a lot of Landrover cars were registered in 'B'irmingham as they have a 'B' - the launch L322's for example. Current Fleet:- 2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE 2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt 5.0 V8 1993 Defender 90 200TDI Pickup Gone - not forgotten 2016 L405 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE 2012 L322 4.4 Westminster 2004 L322 4.4 V8 Autobiography LE 2000 P38 RR 4.0 HSE (ex Clarkson test car) |

After a lot of sitting on the pot, I finally took the plunge and bought a new VSE 4.4 and collected it yesterday.

But the car is an AB - highly unlikely to be hire car spec - I'd expect them to go base Vogue.....

These aren't hire cars in the normal sense, they're cars that LR supply if a customers car breaks down.

It depends on the fleet your loan vehicle comes from. The Executive Office has access to Autobiography derivative vehicles but they are usually Vogue SE 3L Diesel engines on standard spec aside from a tow bar. |

When we were replacing the wifes car in August, one of the cars we were interested in (Autobiography RR Sport) was not on site. When the dealer checked it turned out it was also JLR registered, and was being used by the dealers body shop as a loan car for people having their cars repaired.
