L322 - 2011 - Waze options

So what are my options for getting Waze up on the existing screen? Or will I need to replace the whole headunit?

You can't really replace the entire dash unit on a MY11 without crippling the vehicle as it's all integrated fiber stuff since 2005.

Only really old 2003-2004 L322s could have their radio replaced as it was an analogue BMW system.

I went the route of doing phone screen mirroring on my MY06 but it was really a waste of time/energy and I ended up finding a solid mag/wireless charger mount for my phone and using android auto on my phone in both Rovers. I have bluetooth streaming in my MY12 so it acts as if it's part of the system sound wise, on the MY06 I just have the volume turned up on the phone itself.

I mounted my phone over the drivers air vent right below the factory head unit. I prefer to watch my rearview camera at all times on the factory head unit anyway.

I have an iPad mini semi- permanently mounted in mine.
I have used Waze, but really prefer Google maps with the iPad tethered to my iPhone
It’s real purpose is for viewing my iid live values, but I have spent literally hours and hours trying to get the 2 working at the same time, either split screen or one over the other.
I am convinced it should be possible, but my iPad skills are somewhat lacking.. Rolling with laughter

Did you fit that new screen? Just wonder what its like. Will it work with the full system of the range rover?

As an aside , I wandered into Mercedes whist my car was having brake pads, The new merc screens seem to be over half the width of the car, so maps and speedo etc are all on one. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I just bought a 2010 TDV8 Vogue. The service history is from Land Rover in printed invoice form. I telephoned them to enquire about a +£4k charge last year. They came back saying it was for a new Nav System !!!! Shocked

Navtool will solve your problem and give you full CarPlay and Android Auto.

There's another thread on Navtool at the moment - does anyone know for sure if Navtool for the 2010-12 has touchscreen CarPlay or if you have to use a physical remote/joystick? I've asked their customer support but they're incredibly flakey.

Many thanks

hi guys, i have found another possible future option called rover berry, website roverberry.com

he is developing as we speak a system that uses a raspbery pi i believe to plug and play into all systems and there fore update all the old systems.

i found him on facebook through one of the groups, i think i will be holding out to see what he comes up with

Sounds interesting but looks like it only works with 05-09 cars which is a shame.
