Paddle shifts on 3.6 TDV8 2010

Hello all

I’ve seen paddle shifts being sold by Powerful UK and I was wondering if anyone knows whether the 2010 models are pre wired to accept them?

Thanks 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Hi Andy,

I replaced the steering wheel on my 2010 3.6 tdv8 and the new one had paddles on it. The connectors are present but not the link lead. I made one using an old computer cd drive audio cable.

The paddles light up but require programming to work. I am not sure if anyone has successfully programmed a 3.6 to accept paddles yet but I know its possible on the 5L supercharged.

Hope this helps

Thanks
The powerful ones are genuine LR and come with the wiring attached to them.

There is an option in IID tool to activate paddles so it sounds promising. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Ive never used them on any of my RR's! A bit of a gimmick on a big automatic barge!!! Hardly sporty are they Whistle

Mores the point, the only time i do use them is when i knock them by accident and then the car is stuck in that gear Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head

I had someone with a IID tool pro try to enable them on my car using that option but it kept failing.

He thought that I might need a gearbox update from GAP to get it work.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on Andy and if yours needed an update as this might sway me into a IID tool

I imagine they're a bit more useful when off roading in low range? Not that I've got round to doing any yet. Still looking for some smaller wheels... 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Not that I would dare to disagree with Craig Bow down

BUT I do find the paddle shifts useful in two situations - going downhill to get a bit of engine braking (I know what they say about using the brakes but as one who has had brake fade.............)

and I tend to use them to change down BEFORE overtaking rather than waiting for kick down WHEN overtaking. Geoff
