Anyone had any good experiences with paintless dent removal/chip repairs? I am looking to have my front bumper repaired as it has a dent just above the foglight. There's also a load of stone chips to the front bonnet edge and a few all over the car.

If it was a major job i was needing done , yes it would have been put into a paintshop to get done , BUT because it was only the wing mirror casing's and side vents and a couple of other stupid things thats why i got it done thru Chipsaway , and regarding colour matching even a time served paint sprayer could not tell the difference ............. 30 years exp ....

Noddy, your bonnet chips can be improved upon but cannot be made invisible by touching in.Your bumper, however sounds like a very straight forward job to get an undetectable repair. The advice above that silver smart repairs look poor and cant be blended ect. is just plain wrong. With modern water based paints silver, in my experience, is no more difficult than than any other colours. The hardest part from your point of view is finding a good quality company to do the work as your repairs for a decent company are "bread and butter". Cheers, Simon. |

Never used Smart repairs etc, but I've been given the impression that for a short term "tart up" to flog a car, they're great, but for long term, quality repairs, there is no substitute for doing the job properly. I floated the idea with some professional vehicle painters I know a while back and the response was pretty much the same from all. |
