Codes don't always show in this situation - I'd say almost definitely a leak in the intake system.

JLR went from flat pipe to contoured then back to flat pipe on the inlets!

A similar thing happened to me recently, after the garage looked at it they found leaks on the intake. This has now been fixed and I haven’t seen the amber warning light since. |

The rapidly soot increase has been stopped with the new Hose.

Was looking into the engine bay - hoping that I could see anything suspicious by chance - then indeed I found some soot around one side of the throttle (the plastic hose on the other side is new because it was leaking).

Where you have indicated a possible defect gasket, there is one on that joint. Seems to be of silicone and, looking at the securing bolts on the throttle body it appears that it has been removed at some time. It may be that the gasket is not seated properly, which is easy to do. A replacement is not expensive, only a £ or 2 from an MD. Cheers

If you've not done the throttle body yourself before, a few hints as to what to be careful of when taking it out and replacing.
