Finance, deposit and early termination

Hi everyone,

anyone got experience of Finance deals with JLR? There is 4K deposit contribution but only if you take the finance. I have the cash sitting there - anything to stop me taking the finance and clearing it straight away to get the deal?

The dealer will not discount on a cash deal and is aware I will ask to clear this straight away. I have to borrow a lot of money and don’t want tied in to something that costs me double the contribution over the course.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Details should be in the small print on the finance forms, normally a certain number of months before you can pay off the balance. I can't speak for Landrover finance but I've taken advantage of this many times with other brands to get 3 years free servicing or anything else they happen to be giving away.

A lot of people do exactly what you’re planning to do. I did a version of the same with my first Disco 4 👍

Isnt there a 14 day cooling off period, so settle on day 1 and no cost. letters not necessarily in the right order

At which point the agreement would be cancelled and the deposit contribution would need to be returned.

The interest incurred over a couple of months will be small beer in comparison Thumbs Up

There’s no reason why you can’t get way more than £4k off a cash deal on a fatty. Shop around and return to original dealer but with optionality in your back pocket.

But if you’re happy with just under £4k then the finance approach you describe if settling a few months in would work just fine. Also, pay the maximum deposit allowed (70% perhaps, can’t remember).

Thanks guys, spoke to JLR finance today and all doable. Having driven BMW’s for 15 years, looks like I will be picking up my first RR... 18 plate autobiography at the weekend. Exciting times.

About to do the same, may I ask how long you waited as not to loose the 4k contribution?

Cheers
