LR Privilege Scheme

Hello everyone,

newbie here well on the way to buying first RR ... i am trying to stretch to the 4.4TDV8 and have been reminded that I have a brother-in-law that works for LR in Solihull... so before i approach him to ask politely if he would consider using any discount he can get on my behalf, i thought i'd better check how this 'scheme' operates ?

Anyone know how you qualify as 'family' and how the scheme operates ??

From what i can glean the employee must get a Voucher from LR that the qualifying family member then takes to a Dealer and orders in the usual manner, just with a whopping 20% discount. But i'd like to know what members of the family qualify and any other information if anyone has it. Thanks.

ps great site you have here Bow down Bow down

I'm not sure whether a Range Rover would be included in this scheme due to its value (particularly VSE and AB)?

no he hasn't purchased anything for at least 4 years.

I have contacted Guy Salmon and they say it does apply to the 4.4TDV8 and it is 20% - thats why i am so keen to make this work. he says once you have the Voucher you simply hand that to him and they sort it. The car has to be ordered via the scheme so that it is administered as a 'employee/family' car and not a Retail car (so the wait is a bit longer as it cannot be one the Dealer already has spec'd or available). I guess the complication will come from the 'qualifying' as family under the scheme. As Family can 'qualify' (its just which family i don't know yet) i am guessing it is registered in my name rather than the employee and therefore re-sale isn't so much an issue?

Isn't the discount simply some way for LR to aviod charging the VAT to the employee ? i don't know if thats how they discount ?

I would assume you simply just do not pay VAT.

i have managed to find a number and gave them a call. It covers quite a lot of family, as far out as Cousin being the first one it does not cover - it even covers half-brothers / sisters. Its as simple as employee gets a form from HR; completes the form; if HR are happy you 'qualify' they send it to LR Business Center that generate a PIN number and send it back. I would then simply take that PIN to any UK Dealer and order the car - the Dealer sorts the discount directly with LR and you are free to use all the usual Dealer services such as finance etc. The only rule is that you cannot sell in the first 12 months and it takes a while longer as it has to be directly from a build slot at the plant rather than a Dealer car.

The car is then registered in my name and I would be the first owner.

Sounds a great deal for anyone with Family in LR or Jaguar. Very Happy

Sounds great. Do Autobiographies count?

I think they are not included, but can't be sure as i am only after a Vogue and didn't ask, but something rings a bell about A/B and SC not being included
