Has anyone noticed petrol smell coming from the exhaust of the 5.0L Supercharged in morning when cold? I use Tesco Premium fuel (momentum ot whatever it is called). It seems like unburnt fuel. I am wondering if it is normal or something not right? Could it be the fuel?

Petrol smell annoys me a little. And if one puts AC to defrost, it brings in the petrol smell inside the cabin.

I use Shell super unleaded and don't get any smell, nor anything in cabin. I would get it checked out just to be on safe side.

Push the choke in a bit Probably a result of the need for a richer mix when cold although I'd have thought current technology should regulate this and prevent unburnt fuel being emitted via the exhaust. Quite an interesting emissions subject as well. I'm happy with petrol or diesel, but for the emissions brigade (and I stand corrected if wrong) I believe a diesel engine doesn't require more fuel at start up, hence glow plugs.

From what i have heard Tesco Momentum is supposed to be one of the better ones up there with Shell and BP.

For fear of upsetting a large proportion of diesel lovers, at least my boots don't stink of diesel nor do i have to wear a pair of rubber gloves to fill her up nor keep the windows closed so i cant hear the engine!! That's my diesel rant over with for the year!! Sorry for any offence taken....

ANY smell of petrol fuel needs investigating IMMEDIATELY sir... Its VERY dangerous and should never be taken lightly! Trust me, you don't need it going up in a puff of smoke the week after you have posted it on a forum sir Insurance companies love this sort of thing
