Interesting thread. I've just has two new Scorpion Zero Verdis on my car. They are designated Mud and Snow, and have the All Season denomination..... they do look however a lot less likely to cope with mud and snow than the older Scorpion Zero's I have on the front. (Wider tread blocks and gaps). I was told that the older tread pattern is no longer manufactured? Can anyone back this up or have experience of using one against the other?

The original Scorpion Zero isn't on Pirelli's website as far as I can see, but I bought a recently-made pair about three months ago - they're definitely better in fields than the Verdes, but I expect the All Season Verdes are better in general winter conditions (you're rarely ploughing through fresh snow).

You’re probably right there. The older pattern ones on the front don’t disperse water that well, and definitely grab in deeper puddles. Thanks!

The bit that is being missed here is that winter tyres perform much better than summers when the temperature drops below 7c never mind snow or ice they stop you better at low temperatures

Some snow would be nice - it was 39 deg C here today. At least it will be only warm tomorrow (29 deg C) but back to 39 on Thursday.
