Remap pop and bang

Just wondering if anyone has remapped their 5.0L Supercharged ? What are the views on pop and bang?

Haha no... I cannot stand Subaru or Ford ST or VXRs.

I was hoping to remap to bring the 510BHP to more SVO 550BHP or 570BHP. SVO does the pop and bang as well.

Not a great deal you can achieve without a turbo I'm afraid - I understand you can buy a bigger pulley for the supercharger but what difference it makes is anyone's guess Thumbs Up

Try here if you have a spare £1200;

https://www.paramount-performance.com/rang...82884.html "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

So do you have the Sport of FF as I have the FF SVA 565BHP and you can't hear the pop/bang from inside the vehicle Exclamation "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

I had my 5.0 L322 top pulley and remap done and was worth doing in my opinion. im now in a 2016 L405 5.0 and looking into options, it dont need it i just like to have it. I have emails from DMS claiming 650bhp plus from top pulley and map. Paramount are stating both top and bottom pulleys for there VIP tune to achieve 650bhp, so not sure about DMS results although they did supply rolling road results and much cheap way to go. Im sure they mention pops and bangs if you want it.

If you want more boost you'd want to change the supercharger pulley to a smaller one and a smaller belt to take up the slack. It will cause the blower itself to spin faster and you'll pick up a couple pounds of boost. If you start messing with a larger crank pulley it'll still cause the supercharger to spin faster, but also every other accessory on the belt which suffice it to say isn't good. You'd have to increase the pulley size on every other accessory except the blower to avoid this. I'm pretty sure the l405 is still using the garbage eaton m112, sort of a terrible blower. If you do add more boost 2-4lbs max. Sure you can really over boost it with a smaller snout pulley/larger crank pulley combo and see big numbers on a dyno but under normal conditions it'll heatsoak quickly. You're also putting an awesome amount of stress on the blower and it will not last very long before it needs to be pulled and rebuilt. IMO just leave the car alone.

My good friend down the street has an SVR that constantly 'pops/bangs' IMO it sounds terrible and looks a bit silly. A lux suv that sounds like the exhaust has fallen off.

A Trap

DMS know what they are doing, have been around for years with a wealth of knowledge on many high end platforms. They tuned my M5 back in 2006 and even can out from Southampton to Shropshire to reflash the map after the dealer did an update that removed the DMS tune. Not the cheapest but they stand by their tunes.

The M5 was a rocket after and would easily hit 204mph. Very happy.

DMS were very good at replies and sending dyno results for my 5.0 and say thet get 650bhp with just top pulley and service and price great. But why does paramount/V.I.P need the very expensive bottom pully for same result? if you really need it im happy to go that way.

They may be going with the larger bottom pulley because running a smaller snout pulley results in less surface area for the belt to grab yielding belt slip. The larger bottom pulley is a really bad idea though for reasons I posted above. Again, over boosting an eaton m112 is a silly idea on a vehicle like this. I'm so confused as to why anyone would bother. I get opening up the intake a bit, maybe an exhaust, but leave that blower alone unless you're okay with removing it inside 10,000 miles replacing/rebuild.

Holy thread revival Smile

Pop and bang Laughing is there as standard in the engine, the exhaust system is just good at hiding it. If that is desired I'd start with a nice valvetronic exhaust first to unleash that v8 burble. Sure mine is an L322 but the principle remains the same, my exhaust was bespoke so I can have it how I want it. Civilised and family friendly with just a little extra hint of what's under the bonnet with the valves closed. But fast and loud when its opened up...With a pop and bang that is just like a good hardstyle EDM symphony...

The Range Rover is not supposed to make noise.

The “here comes a successful estate agent” exhaust is strictly for the Range Rover Sport.
