I've had to change 2 injectors at different times for the same reason. The first one just pulled out but the second was a nightmare ! Being an engineer I have a vast collection of tools at my disposal in my garage and only succeeded in destroying the top of the injector. I bit the bullet and purchased a dedicated BMW diesel injector remover - what a god send ! Came out a doddle. The issue is the carbon build up around the base of the injectors , tried the soaking in cola trick etc but still wouldn't shift. Just ensure you use new copper sealing washers when you refit or fit an injector |

I would take some time to clean the terminals on the injectors and carefully try and close the terminals on the loom plugs to ensure a good connection. Once you are sure its not the loom then a replacement Injector seems probable. They are quite easy to change if the old one wants to come out. Get some Plus Gas or similar into the injector hole ASAP then plan for the job. I use a cheap ebay puller, it fits onto the Fuel inlet thread, You need to tap sideways back and forth whilst wacking the slide hammer up and down. No need for brute force just constant repetition should get it moving slowly upward and out

if you do need an injector, keep an eye on these, they could be a bargain https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-Diesel-Inje...Swxs1dvdOj 2007 TDV8 VSE

Thanks folks for the information,I'm going to try cleaning the terminals and just test to see how the injector comes out while I'm there just in case!
