off roading in Scotland. Any ideas?

Hi All,

Will hopefully have my Range Rover next week. We would like to get out and about into the countryside with it. We live in Ayrshire but willing to travel. Any ideas of where we can convoy and get off the main roads or even something we can do our selves? I keep hearing of all these great routes south of the border but never hear anything in Scotland except for Landrover experience and Drumclog in Ayrshire

Dying to get off-road.

So where can we use the Rangey to do what it was built to do? All you guys out there can't just be happy with driving on tarmac. we have a couple fo estates in Ayrshire but I don't want to really be driving on dirt roads. It would be great to get out in the country side. There must be some places in Are there any groups or associatiations that put together trips or have set days out?

hope to hear from you all with some great ideas on where to test a FFRR to see how good they really are. Just had a quick look on Facebook and found this.

Lots of private estates who sometimes allow access or some clubs will organise days out. For byways open to all traffic and UCRs you need to head south Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I see someone suggested Drumclog in your other post - be careful if you go there as its a pay & play area and we used to run "winch events" there that were extremely challenging for some of the best built winch vehicles in the UK, so that will tell you what the ground is like Thumbs Up

There are some softer decent lanes/tracks there but you need to be careful as some start off very gentle but turn out to be very very demanding Big Cry "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.
