Sat Nav Infotainment Screw UP.......

Morning Everyone.

Firstly my apologies for joining simply to post this question but Land Rover and others have resolutely failed to assist!

Recently I purchased a Sat Nav upgrade stick from a UK based company.

My car is a 2016 Range Rover Vogue made in March 2016.

The stick I ordered arrived and I plugged it in. Basically it has not worked despite me putting in the correct pin code and so on. The sat nav now just shows that it is updating its maps which freezes my ability to both use the sat nav or attach my phone.

For clarity I inserted the stick into the vehicles one and only USB port. I followed the instructions (basically plug it in and follow on screen instructions) and it said it was updating however 6 days later its saying the same thing, and now even when I remove the stick the screen remains the same- updating an locked. Big Cry

Does anyone know any way this can be unfrozen? LR have been unhelpful because the stick was third party. They want £2000 to fix it!

Anyone know of a hack into the system so I might at least attempt a fix at home?

All help is much appreciated. Very Happy

I bought a third party upgrade and it took almost 3 hours to download. Has yours taken longer ( hours wise re the car running ) ? 2015 4.4 AB

It took over six hours and the progress bar % did not move. Now, when I remove the stick it simply stays as it is (locked up) There is definitely something amiss!

you will always have a risk by buying nav upgrades other than from landrover..

disconnect the battery for around 1 hour and reconnect, this might help..... details are in the wiki.. ... - .- -.

Hello Stan.

I have done this (no simple task in my car!) and left for over an hour. Switched back on- screen still says loading maps despite the stick not being present (returned for a refund)

Mine took a good three hours with the ignition on - it eventually worked. I couldn't use sat Nav or phone for the whole three hours but the radio worked. I think overall mine was probably longer than 6 days but of course stuff only happened when the ignition was on (actually I was driving) but after watching the Powerful video it just picked up where it left off and I left the stick in the whole time. I know it doesn't help but I and others haven't had a problem (apart from it taking a long time) so something must be wrong with yours - so send it back. Geoff

Whistle I lost track - have told some & not others - it was a no quibble replacement & seems down to a dodgy USB stick

Re: Sat Nav Infotainment Screw UP.......

My last update took 11 hours (yes eleven). I was about to pull the plug when it finished. The percent complete display means nothing, and is very misleading. It took around 1/3 tank of fuel in the end just idling!

Mine counted up fairly reliably - First time stopped at IIRC 35% and wouldn't move - Second one was about 3 hours but ticked up on a steady basis

Thanks to all. Maybe mine is just a dodgy stick? It came from link deleted who I now discover have very mixed reviews.

My issues are different because when I first inserted the stick and put in the pass code it looked as if all was well, however the % thing never went beyond 0%.

I persevered but the unit just kept displaying messages like the ones in my pics. I have sent a formal letter to the supplier who has asked me to send the unit back and he will supply a new one. I will give him this option but otherwise its back to Mastercard and the small claims court as LR have quoted £2000 for the repair!
