The front power socket located with the cup holders is not working in my car. First point of call was to access fuse 63 in the fuse box behind the glovebox, hopefully this is the correct one.

My question is, how the hell do you get the fuse out? The location for this fuse makes it almost impossible to access with the tool provided.

Hi Stan, the access hole is small and number 63 is located between a relay and a large strap connector so it's slightly buried by the surrounding items. Not sure I could get pliers to get a grip the fuse. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

are you sure its number 63 and is in fact a fuse? could it be a permanent fuse of some kind?

just looked on topix and fuse 20 [yellow] seems to be for the front socket, but thats on a 2016 FF as topix doesnt go down to 2013.. ... - .- -.

Mine's a 2013 and doesn't have the front glovebox power socket that the later models have.

I'm assuming that 63 is the correct one as this is shown as the front cigarette lighter in the manual. I can't think where else that could be other than by the cup holders but happy to hear other views. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

i dont have one in the glovebox either [2016] but i do have one next to the cup holders like yours,

You can do it with the fuse puller that is clipped to the fuse board, it's bloody fiddly but can be done, I did mine yesterday.

Putting a replacement in is the hardest part as there is no room to unclip the tool, you have to put it in half way then slide the puller off, then push the fuse home. Current

Fuse 63 sits below the red 10 amp fuse shown on the bottom (middle) the photo below

It's 100% fuse 63 on a 2013 and if you are struggling to swap it, that confims it even more. Current

holy moly - they look like some medieval torture instrument !

The pliers have just been delivered but unfortunately the ends don't close enough to grab the fuse.

Just ordered a cheap long nosed plier set, hopefully these will do the job.
