Won't Switch Off

Weird one earlier, whilst reversing into a parking space, restricted performance, then it would not switch off, press, then logo screen, then it eventually did as asked. Not having an IID is starting to annoy me now, but any of you learned folk any suitable ideas? Not spent any money since my L322 , only a matter of time I guess!

Do you mean the engine would not switch off?

I’ve heard horror stories about diesels combusting their own engine oil, revving like nuts, Shocked and only way to stop it is the engine dies or (more preferably) you jam the air intake to force a stall. Hopefully yours is an electrical glitch!

Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Corris Grey

If the issue was "just" the logo screen staying on for an extended period, that has happened to mine a few times. I thought it was just a case of 'computer powering down' like one occasionally gets on a laptop, and it did not seem to lead to any problem. Fingers crossed that is all it was. Only Range Rovers since 1988

nope wasn’t runaway, simply wouldn’t switch off, pressed the stop start button and it didn’t do anything, engine continued to run, screen kept flashing logo. Seemed ok later in the day, hopefully just a minor spaz! IID tool now on the short list Thumbs Up

Oh ffs, all well for a couple of days then engine warning light has come on . Anyone in Dundee area can do me a favor with a scan before tomorrow night, meant to be heading to Glasgow & back. Knew I had it good for far too long.
