MTEC Brakes?

Dear Learned Collective......
I'll have to replace my front discs and pads soon. Just had the rears done as part of the MOT.
I'm thinking a set of grooved and drilled discs from MTEC (360mm) with a decent set of EBC Greenstuff pads.
I've used EBC for donkey's years and love the bite and lack of dust. Does anyone have any experience of the MTEC discs?
-Quality, life, performance?

I know they are likely to rumble a little bit more than standard discs, and I'm not too bothered about that as long as they work well.

Any observations on this combination from the mass brain?

Thanks in advance,

Si.

Always used them on both my MG ZT V8 and my MG ZT-T V6 and have found them to be great in every respect.

I have on both mine and a couple of customer cars some yrs ago... They rust like no tomorrow so could be made from poor quality materials? Make loads of noise which resulted in all of them being replaced with NON grooved discs...

Oh and MTEC sent us the wrong discs for every car at least once!

I wouldn't recommend them of a fatty sir Thumbs Up

Ahh, that's a shame. I thought they were UK manufactured so that's even worse!
Sounds like I'll stick with Standard then........

I had some on a previous hot hatch. Fitted them and done £1,000 miles to bed them in before going on a track. Warped on the first lap. Luckily the hotel owner sourced some EBC replacements that day so I fitted them and off I went with no problems

I’ve never used them but saw a frightening photo on twitter or Instagram of a cracked mtec disc so wouldn’t touch them with a plastic barge pole.

Here it is...

Bloody Hell. That seals it for me. No chances to be taken with a 2.5 ton automatic! Thanks for the replies folks. Very much appreciated. This forum really is tops!

Had mtec on mine front and rear with mtec pads for 7months and 6000mls,no probs whatsoever with corrosion, cracking, brakes feel much keener, grooved /drilled discs do make a low but to me acceptable noise on braking hard but they enhance the look of the car IMHO. 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?
