Had a play with my new to me L405 yesterday, read up on the homelink and it now does rolling code, read a little deeper and typically my gates (BFT) aren't on the list

I do have a seperate rolling code system wired into the gates, garage and house alarm to put everything onto one fob but still rolling code to make it more secure and it doesn't work on that either

Why do they bother fitting this system? it only seems to work with antiquated fixed code systems.

2hours wasted and nothing achieved

The L322 system works at my others half's work, she loves it!

Doesn't say much for their security though

I’ve spent more hours on this than I care to admit, but have now got a stable working setup.

Complications will sound like first world problems but relate to a combination of multiple garage doors + entry gates. Compounded further by having two cars with homelink transmitters.

The solution has been to give up trying to get the car(s) to work with the doors and gates direct but instead to use a “PR433-4 2-Channel Rolling Code Universal Receiver model PR433-4”. This is a £50 gadget which is hardwired to the door/gate opener and receives directly from the RR homelink transmitter. Need to order from Chamberlain in Germany but arrived quickly and easily.

(There are quite a few internet video guides out there on how to programme Homelink from scratch but the US version of Homelink seems to have some subtle differences so take care if you’re in Europe.)

I have on all of my cars and it works a treat, main gates and garage doors, you do however need a homelink box inline though incorporated into your gate system, all of my systems are FAAC and they all work perfectly. I have an excellent engineer who set all of mine up. So I would always spec it.

I have a 2011 L322 with Homelink and it works fine with both my garage doors and gates, both of which have rolling codes.

After a bit of experimenting I found the way to get the code in is to press and hold the button on the mirror that you want to code then press the button on the relevant remote repeatedly at a rate of about twice per second. After half a dozen or so presses the little red light on the mirror changes to show it has learnt all the codes. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

I'll give it one last try with that technique, I did have to keep re pressing my fob due to it timing out but it was nowhere near as quick as that.

EDIT

Continously pressing the fob does indeed make the mirror learn the fob.

BUT follow the learn process for the control panel and it still doesn't want to talk.

I've survived using a fob 'til now so I'll carry on using it. Current

I just set this up tonight on the garage doors. I've also set this up many times over the years on various homes/rovers I've had. Never been an issue.

two ways of doing this.

1.) take your garage/gate remote hold it up to the rear view mirror, simultaneously press and hold the button on the remote while also pressing and holding the button you're trying to program on homelink. You will see the LED flashing slowly, once it's programmed it will begin flashing rapidly and you're good. If this fails you may want to clear the system by holding both button 1 and 3 simultaneously until the light flashes like crazy.

2.) park in your garage... press the learn button on your opener, get back in your car, accessories on... hold the homelink button you wish to program. It'll flash slowly and then once programmed rapidly.

As an aside some “garage openers” jam types of radar speed detectors ... not sure of the frequency  Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
