Hi Paul, this is very interesting as we purchased/financed ours at the end of December and it is booked in for a service next month. As this is the earliest that they could get the car in....this service will be carried out just before it is 6 months old. Meaning to me if they don’t give a satisfactory outcome/answer to the early service and ad Blue situation. Would this be recourse to reject the vehicle?

Quick update, car went in yesterday for oil service and check. All now seems fine and a couple of updates needed. No charge..... |

Further update to early oil service/oil dilution issue with my TDV6 . Still in dialogue with JLR Customer Service, also in dialogue with Land rover finance (Black Horse) Still in dialogue with Service Manager at my supplying dealership.

When I was deciding what to do i asked both at the dealer and at LRCR about real world emissions for the 4.4 SDV8. Neither knew anything. Research online revealed nothing for the 4.4 but a test of the RR Sport 3.0TDV6 (presumably a similar engine to that in the RR) showed it was emitting about three times what it did in the current laboratory test in a real world scenario, and it was given a second chance on an "engine warmed up" basis, when the result was better, but not that much better. My conclusion was that the diesels were way off real world test compliance.

For info, since I took early retirement at the end of 2017, I have had to change the oil 3 times (in just over 6,000 miles) due to the early service required indicator which is due to there being 8% diesel in the engine oil. They blame it on my now frequent short runs of course and say I need to do some long ones to allow the dpf to do its full regeneration process. All I know is that it now costs me around £200 every 6 months for an oil change after around 2,000 miles whereas when I worked , it would do 15,000 a year on the same oil - brilliant!! Steve

I have the 4.4 and have found with this model I drive slower.. I just don’t feel need to rush or to prove anything ...it’s such a joy to drive. (motorways slightly different) Andrew -- On my third Full Fat RR there's nothing like it. |

My SDV8 4.4 isn't immune , oil change required frequently as mentioned above Steve
