Advice from the wise

Hi folks.
Long time lurker here, owned disco 3 from 2005, same car and still running at 230k miles. However I can see she is getting tired now.
So, was pondering over this...

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=ht...4335971386

To be totally honest the only reason to change from a disco 3 HSE to ffat is the crank failure on 3.0 disco's.
Hence looking at the 4.4.

Anyway back to my question, does this seem a good price, is the spec any Good??
Would you? Wouldn't you?

Your thoughts guys.

Pm if you wish.

Kevin

Looks nice enough, and about it's money I suppose. But, and hopefully no one will be offended, I'd look for at least the VSE spec.

It seems a nicely presented car - but other than the 21's looks like no other options.

This bit confused me though "Full Land Rover service history with one just completed" - how can that be right for a 4 year old car with 49k miles ?

Indeed, mine is just 2 years old and its had 2 services. It should have had 3 for that age as its an early 2016 model. Current: RR L322 2010
Past: RR L405 2017, RR L322 2012, 2008 & 2004, 2018 D5, 2016 Defender, 2011 D4, a few Disco2s, P38, RR Classic, couple of Disco1's, SIII SWB

You have to love their creative wording - "2016 chassis year early registered 06.11.15"

Just guessing but I think they mean it's just had a service rather than it's only ever had one service.

2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

My November registered 4.4 VSE with 10k more miles which I bought last month had a sticker price on a Landrover main dealer forecourt for slightly less than this one. Mine had a lot of factory options in it too. The extras in this one from the spec are the sliding roof, front fog lights and the 21' wheels from what I can see

I did also get the Landrover 2 year warranty (although new purchases from this month only get 1 year now) so I reckon this one is slightly high price wise. But if you like the car what does it matter that much, especially if you can't find another one you like as much.

For me, the spec on mine was the deal, the miles slightly higher than I wanted, but as the end of the day it was the right car for me. If this one feels the right car for you then wouldn't let anyone else's opinion sway you. Current Fleet:-
2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE
2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt 5.0 V8
1993 Defender 90 200TDI Pickup

Gone - not forgotten
2016 L405 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE
2012 L322 4.4 Westminster
2004 L322 4.4 V8 Autobiography LE
2000 P38 RR 4.0 HSE (ex Clarkson test car)

I traded my D4 for a new one of these 2 years and 65,000 miles ago. I loved my ‘4, but that V8 is really something else! The V8 also comes with active lean control and 6 pot front Brembos, all of which work brilliantly. It’s nowhere near as practical as a ‘4, but apart from that - fantastic! Thumbs Up

I’ll have a closer look at the advert when I get home.

PS: if you can find and run to a MY17, it has a much, much better infotainment system (if that’s important to you)

Brief look through - shame it’s not a Vogue SE or above (the seats are better), but it’s got some sensible extras, particularly the opening sun roof. Go through the service history carefully - service history is EVERYTHING on these and a lot of them are advertised as having “full service history”, yet several services often turn out to be missing, or late / very late.

Advice

Thanks for all the input guys
Thumbs Up
I see the consensus is go better spec, however higher the spec bigger the price. Which I don't want to go higher on price.
Not totally ruled it out as yet.
Broadened my choices though also looking at this Now.

Took me an age to find my car, during which I also looked at the Sport. I really liked it, but the ride seemed better in the FF and you do not get split tailgate in the Sport. Seems minor, but to me very important.

It’s certainly got the right engine and Firenze Red definitely suits the Sport Thumbs Up

Recommended that you try them both first, because the Sport and the Fatty are a lot more different to each other than you might credit!

Kevin,

It took me six months to find my car on LRAU. Be patient and the one which ticks the boxes will emerge.
