I like to do a bit of touching up and my new 405 has given me the opportunity. The interior is Ivory and one of the door speaker grills has been scratched (not by me) I would like to touch it up - has anyone any experience of what type of paint to use or what colour?

Thanks Craig I’ll get some ordered, found it useful on my old car so passed it on to new owner after all “Aruba” isn’t much use to me now😀 Geoff |

I had a closer look this morning, sadly it is a bit of a scratch (and a very slight dent) and although I tried the magic eraser it remained stubbornly black so I ordered this after watching an episode of the "Repair Shop" - what could possible go wrong.

Well it touched up fine (still waiting for leather dye) BUT even though it’s much better it’s not quite the same colour so is still noticeable. So I ordered some of these to try https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192441985053 in the meantime. I don’t know if you can just replace the speaker grill or if it needs to be a new door card (expensive) and of course the scratch only bugs me, other people don’t even notice🙄 Geoff |

I believe you can replace just the speaker grille. (Looks as if it would be about £35). Ask Ducky Dan. John

Its better, but its not right so grill ordered. If I'd have got the grill straight away I would have saved money on paint, paint brushes and stickers to say nothing of time - ah well if a jobs worth doing its worth doing properly

I had the same thing happen in my wifes discovery rear door speaker but actually put a hole in grill, think yourself lucky as the Disco needs a new door card as you cant buy the speaker grill on its own.

Just tried the solution suggested by Craig for some scratches on the speakers in the rear of the front seats on my Meridian Signature system. It worked a treat

Sounds like you’re sorted, but my alternative idea would be to get a RAL colour swatch - they come in sort of booklets - and colour match that way. This is the one I have, for example:
