First service under my ownership | |
Had the fatty a week now & time for a mega service as I always do with a new car (to me).
88k on the clock with a LR history up to 61k but sadly nothing since so mega service time.
Local 4 x 4 specialist had her for two days, Inspection 2 + all the filters changed, all the oils (engine-diffs-transfer-autobox mega flush) 4-wheel alignment, brake fluid & coolant check. Asked for any codes to be noted just out of curiosity.
Surprisingly enough she had a pretty clean bill of health, only points to watch we're both rear shocks just starting to weep & brake pipe(s) front to back showing signs of corrosion which I believe from reading the forum, is a trait of LR?
Pads 8mm & 6mm so they'll be ok for a while, had to laugh when a friend gasped at the size of the front calliper on this, now I'm glad there's plenty of meat on them!
So, we now start our adventure in a 'dream fatty' & despite all the doom & gloom mongers ( not on here I hasten to add) that have said "you'll be sorry" & "when you've spent all your savings on repairs, don't come crying to me" I feel she & I are going to get on well.
Saying goodbye to my old X5 tomorrow & hand on heart, she was a good girl, totally reliable & a pleasure to own, if the 'fat westie ' turns out to be similar then I'll be a happy man!
Photo's when I've finished 'cleaning' her to a decent standard.
