I bought a RR 2014, I noticed that upper glove box don’t open with the button. When I press the button, it makes some sound to release the latch but box lid doesn’t move at all. I have to open it manually.

Lower glove box opens when I press the button for lower box.

Is it the normal behavior for upper glove box to not open the lid on button press?

I’m asking as I bought this as an approved vehicle and I asked the question to dealer and he said it is how it should be and it only opens manually. But it is difficult to trust the dealer. So I wanted to check from other owners.

Mine's the same, you have to press the button then pull the door open by hand. Not very slick but I've got used to it. At least from this thread I now know that mine isn't broken.

With any warranty claims you need to politely stand your ground. That doesn't solve everything but if you are too meek they won't push the warranty company or ask LR to contribute.

+1 for it opens just enough to get your fingers behind to open properly

Mines the same, upper box just "twitches" to unlock when button pressed, then you open by hand. Geoff

When they fix this design, maybe they will make the top lid come down to 90 degrees so it can be used to stand a cup of coffee/sit a sandwich on whilst parked up...

Thanks guys, it’s good to know that I’m not the only one and upper glove box doesn’t open automatically with the press of button. It’s a small thing, but I was expecting better in RR.
