I have RSE in this car (L405) and I thought that would be better than the Rosen system I had fitted to my previous L322.
Certainly if you need your front passenger to view the same movie as the people in the back you probably do need the factory fitted RSE and I would have wanted that in the L322 as well but in 3 1/2 years we never missed not having that facility once.
The RSE (either version) in our car is to occupy the kids in the back so that the adults in front can have some peace and talk in relative quiet, for that either version of RSE works brilliantly.
The jury is completely split in our family about which system is best with Rosen probably winning on my casting vote because each headrest can have individual DVD players allowing 2 kids to watch 2 different movies if they wished. (They can also watch the same movie on both screens if they wish) whereas there is only one built in DVD player in the factory system.
The crazy thing is in the L405 this year they watched movies on, and played with their iPads all the way to the alps and did not use the RSE (which I so wanted to provide them with) even once!
So having had both systems my advice is buy the right car and have Rosen headrests fitted if you preferred car doesn’t have anything in the back, or consider tablets and live without RSE completely, but don’t get too obsessed about having RSE (as I have done - twice) because at 11/12 my kids just didn’t use it at all! 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ
