Reversing Camera only works in warm weather?

The reversing camera on my 2007 L322 hasn't worked for about 3 years now. However, when the outside temperature goes above about 24 degrees, particularly on sunny days it starts working again! At least for as long as it's warm.

It's really weird - Anybody else experienced this or know which part I need to replace, if any?
