Excellent write up - I shall take your advice and get some tape to take on my upcoming trip - then I'll also expect not to need it |

Had a really good time cheers, we only had one bad day weather wise, but spent that day in the pool.

Wish I'd read this before driving from Holland to Switzerland. Very slow and tedious journey. Like driving my TD6 with a heavy trailer on the back. |

Just had the same happen to me going up a 1 in 4 foot to the floor and it would not go anywhere, scary. Had to reverse onto the grass verge to investigate and the suspension dumped the steps onto a hillock I thought it was a huge failure by the dramatic fashion it all happened.

Gents, a good check is to squeeze the pipes periodically. If they feel hard and plasticky then your risking a split! If they feel rubbery and soft to press then they should be okay!

I had the same thing happen (turbo hoses split) coming back from Cornwall about 3 years ago. I worked out what it was after a quick search on the Internet & then kept it below 2 / 2.5 thousand revs on motorway, by only doing 60 with cruise control on all the way home to Sussex.
