Hi guys, my new to me L322 has just thrown a wobbly at me (2010 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography). Not bad going as I have owned it for a 18 months now. Anyhow, we were on our way to Stratford when the dreaded bong happened. Suspension fault was showing in orange on the dash with a big orange triangle. I stopped and checked but could not find anything obvious, no air leaks, no corners lowering and no height sensor rods broken off. I decided to carry on as i could remove said message by pressing the OK button. We made it to Stratford without any problems and we parked up. I deliberately did not lower it to access mode as I usually do, just in case it wouldn't pump up. 6-7 hrs later we returned and car still up on all corners. Turned on ignition and BONG, still got the fault. We drove home, some 70ish miles without any trouble and then this is where I decided to lower it to access mode. Down it went, good so I raised it. Up it went, even better. Now to offroad height, yes again up it went up. Back to access mode and then up to road height. This where it exhausted the reservoir and would not raise fully. Okay so it is a compressor fault I thought. On to Fullfatrr.com for some answers. An hour or so later I went out to check out the compressor and blow me down it worked. Pumped up to all heights even though the bong and fault appeared as soon as the ignition was on. This now makes me think AIR LEAK causing compressor to overheat. Bags pumped up fully out came the leak detector spray. No leaks found on bags, pipework or compressor valve block ( I am a mechanic by trade and have worked on all manner of vehicles incuding every Landrover model made barring the latest ones). I will get access to Snap-on diagnostics this coming week but was wondering if anyone here has had this happen to them which might help with a quicker fix for me. Thank you all. Did you try going to off road height, then manually lifting each corner, listening for hissing air ?

Hi Joe90, no I didn't try lifting it on the corners. I will try that tonight when I get home. The Best 4x4 by far, so long as you have deep pockets. |

what about the little wires to the tops of the shocks I heard these are a common weak point for breaking not sure on the symptoms tho gotta be worth a look L322 4.4 TDV8 Current

Hi guys, I have plugged in diagnostics and found fault. The front nearside height sensor is faulty. No voltage output. I will get one ordered and hopefully be back on the road soon. The Best 4x4 by far, so long as you have deep pockets. |

Okay guys so not an easy fix as I thought. Part arrived today, pattern part and not genuine LR but I have never had trouble before using pattern. I ordered part number LR020626 which is supposed to be left hand front sensor for L322 up to 2012. I went to fit it and found that 1) it only had three pins and not 6 like my original and 2) it has locating pegs in the plug socket that do not fit my plug. My thinking is that because my car is the autobiography it has the dynamic adaptive suspension and the sensor I have ordered is therefore not for my car???? I do not have RAVE so can anyone help with the correct part number that I should be ordering?

I had a sensor fault code and when I jacked the car up to change it there was a hole in the air spring. The sensor had thrown up a fault because the system was trying to inflate the bag and was expecting the sensor to react. Worth checking the bags first. |
