So I've come to just think / accept that , with my RR set to auto door lock, passengers and myself have to open the door with two pulls.

One to unlock that door, the next to open the door.

Other than me hitting the centre unlock dash button, have I missed anything?

Mine auto locks, exactly the same result ie: 2 pulls or centre unlock button.

thats the procedure greg......puts a strain on the cable me thinks.... ... - .- -.

Yep, that's how it is, pretty c**p really for a car costing what they do, my ancient 2007 E90 BMW 320d auto locks and then auto unlocks when the ignition is turned off so it can't be hard to do. Drives:

I wonder if it'd be possible to wire up a relay across the door unlock button that gets triggered when the ignition is turned off, thus effectively pressing the unlock button for you?
