Noise from power steering when turning right.

Lately I've had an increase in noise from the power steering when turning right.
It seems to be at a specific front wheel angle, possibly indicating an internal leak in the rack?
Noise is much like when you're at full lock, only less.

Car's got 150k miles.

Anyone had this issue? 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

Have you checked fluid levels?

Fluid level i ok. I've also changed the fluid (using correct LR Cold climate fluid). 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

The noise that you are hearing which is the same as the full lock noise is the spooler valve venting pressure , either your PAS pump needs attention (recon unit) or your rack is on the way out and you have fluid pressure imbalance causing the spool valve to activate.

The spool valve is in the PAS pump i forgot to mention.

Personally i would live with it as a totally knackered pump or rack is the same price as replacing one that is just a little noisy !

As long as none of the offending articles are spewing metal debries into the system, thus making short work of other seals, I agree with living with it a while longer.
I would assume a pump failure would produce different symptoms? More consistent noise during pump load? 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway
