TPMS is a pain in the Censored You'd be well advised to leave it deactivated. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

I keep hearing this but nothing specific about what actually goes wrong with it. So in what way is it a pain?

It appears to be deactivated in mine too - I don't like the idea of things not working though... 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

The valves corrode and are susceptible to snapping off - as happened to me whist adding air - cue instantly flat tyre.

The sensors in the wheel arches can be temperamental too.

If you get an issue, the error messages are confusing and difficult to figure out -so you end up replacing everything did by bit to try to figure it out.

I bought an IID tool specifically to turn mine off - they drove me me for a while, then I just started ignoring the error messages. Eventually I decided to switch it off and replace the valves with rubber.

It might be an MOT failure now if you have a warning light.

If it’s currently off, its likely you need to do more than just switch it on and live happily ever after....... it’s probable that it was turned off for a reason.

Exactlly Alistair. Kooky Guy, I dont like things not working either but in my experience of TPMS it only worked without fault around 10-15% of the time I had it. Constantly chasing faults Banging Head It was on a Jag XF but its the same system on a Fatty. You can enjoy your Fatty as it is or reactivate the TPMS and quickly hate it. Fair enough! I know I don't have the valves fitted anyway. I'll just stick with my trusty pressure guage. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
