Service records tracing & oil in coolant

Hi all, looking at various FFRR and one in particular stands out. Only question mark is the service history. Nice big file but seems to be missing an entry.

Owner was told it had been serviced prior to purchase at 36 months but no record. Called the garage who sold it and they don’t know. Tried a couple LR dealers but no joy.

Would it be stored on the key?

Cheers

I am pretty sure that no data/info is stored in the L322 key. Current: FF Westminster money pit

Gone:
RRS 4.2 SC
RRS 3.6 TDV8
FL2 TD4

No fairly sure nothing stored on key and the service indicator is just a counter so no logic behind that.

I’ve had garages refuse to give out service history citing data protection and that’s if you can find which garage did it, which isn’t strictly accurate if they don’t give out owners details but the penalties for getting it wrong are harsh these days in GDPR world so I don’t blame then

I think most 405’s are now stored centrally at land rover but the l322 is down to individual garages. And with so many franchises being taken over and merged some Landrover garages have even deleted it all post merger/takeover! Which a very big franchise group service manager sheepishly told me when I enquired a couple of years ago about one car Current Fleet:-
2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE
2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt 5.0 V8
1993 Defender 90 200TDI Pickup

Gone - not forgotten
2016 L405 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE
2012 L322 4.4 Westminster
2004 L322 4.4 V8 Autobiography LE
2000 P38 RR 4.0 HSE (ex Clarkson test car)

thanks for the replies.

Next question - there is a lot of oil in the coolant. This could be fallout from a recent failed oil cooler... would this be causing any damage?

There is also a slight vibration from the nearside rear when applying power from a roundabout - cv joint or wheel bearing?

edit: thats terrible about deleting the serving history!

I’d look for another one. If the oil has not been flushed from coolant that points to sloppy workmanship....
Plenty out there to choose from Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
