Hi Rafman, I have to say you're at a distinct disadvantage on soft sand with 22" low profile tyres to start with but I'm sure you know that. I've had 275/45 x20 on my L322 S/C and I had successfully run them down to 18 psi without peeling the tyre off on a soft sand beach, got it bogged too on occasion. I have the very same tyres on my Touareg now (sorry folks, only interim) and it is going fine currently. But with such little side wall, the squash effect is very small such that a deflated 20-22" tyre doesn't actually present much benefit over fully inflated. Still, it will be better deflated than fully inflated for sure. To answer your question, I think 18 psi you're safe and maybe a little lower, it may depend if you do any sharp bends which will try to rip the bead off its seat. Gentle corners best anyway to avoid ploughing up too much sand.
What is the full tyre dimension 295/35 x22?
