Smart key DEAD

I unlocked my car this morning got in it put the keys in the centre consort as usual , then had to go back into the house
On return to the car to start it the No smart key message came up so did the key under the steering column still no joy
Checked fuse 17 in glove compartment left it out for a few mins still no joy
Replaced both fob batteries (Duracell) still no joy

It wont lock or unlock or start the car
Am I missing anything to try

lock it and leave it for 30 minutes and then try again.. ... - .- -.

All sorted now it was a bloody 5 amp fuse in no1 position TRANSMITTER
