Running a RR and saving money

I decided that the OEM JLR mats were lacking a bit so I bought BRITPART as recommended by Craig and palli as they cover more, particularly on the drivers side. I also thought what's the point of the recess in the boot if you have to fit the grossly overpriced OEM side net to make it useable, so I bought one from a chandlery for a few quid (I knew my days down a Cowes weren't wasted) I deliberately left the gap at the bottom so I can easily get the boot mat in and out. I used de-icer for the photo only - not much call for it in July rest of the stuff is the RSE headphones and a can of pop Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

you've got a good memory Alistair... Laughing
unfortunately i dont think it will work on the l405 as the floor section doesn't come up so that i can screw the mdf onto it, but fitting a net looks very easy...

@geoff , the mat looks good ..why dont they only do the fronts i wonder ... ... - .- -.

Forward mounts are easy - getting backing washers onto the panel by the switches is a little more fiddly - Geoff has better locations due to a smaller net Thumbs Up

Geoff has better locations due to a smaller net.

And I just used some very short self tapping screws, didn't think there might be electrics behind the panel and the eagle eyed will have noticed its a bit long. but if I do take it off the screws leave no trace in the carpet stuff. Geoff

Why didn't they just fit the same hooks each side as they did in the l322. Its like the sunglass holder (that's made it to the disco sport) that was dropped too and that's even more useful. Current: RR L322 2010
Past: RR L405 2017, RR L322 2012, 2008 & 2004, 2018 D5, 2016 Defender, 2011 D4, a few Disco2s, P38, RR Classic, couple of Disco1's, SIII SWB

Actually the net slides up and down on the clips so I repositioned the top ones so now it reaches the bottom and I can raise it if I need to remove the rubber mat. Geoff
