2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Baltic Blue
facelift or not?

Hi there folks

I have seen a RR that I like.

How do I check if it is the facelift version? It has the newer lights and touch screen nav.

It was registered in May 2005. The logbook states it as a RR TD6 vogue SE A.

Many thanks! Smile

Look at the 10th digit on the VIN/chassis number.

You want a 6 for a 2006 model, which had the full facelift and modifications.

Thanks!

It does contain a '6'. Most helpful to know!

Thumbs Up

Hi

Just thought it is a 2005 car. Should it still have a 6?

Perhaps a stupid question?

I think the 2006 model which Fox was referring to was 2006 MY (model year), which could have been registered from March 2005. The visible parts of the facelift are basically the lights and the navigation system, so it's pretty certain yours is a facelift, particularly since the vin matches too.

But it all depends on what you're talking about when you say facelift. The was a number of interior improvements made in the 2007 MY, which some people would call a facelift, and which makes a car generally more desirable. This is easy to spot because there is a distinct lack of handbrake lever (becomes electronic), and you get the terrain response dial. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Surely if you mean the 2006MY facelift then you may also want to ensure you have the re-designed grille & front bumper curving around the headlights plus the revised rear light clusters and the touch screen nav as well as a Jag engine instead of a BMW in the petrol models!!!

And remember some Non Facelift 2005MY come with touch screen nav and fibre optics. Thumbs Up

If it's got the 6 in the VIN number it will have the facelifted bumper and headlights, the touch screen and all the other stuff such as the improved front differential as they realised there was a problem there. This is commonly refered to as the facelift model launched in 2005 as the 2006 model spec, as it looked like it'd had a "facelift".

Facelift meaning it looks different.
So it won't have the interior improvements from the 2007 model, no terrain response or TDV8 engine. Which I'm sure makes sense as you've said it's a 2006 model. Just make sure the 6 is the 10th digit of the VIN number.

Its all very confusing! 2005 but the 2006 MY facelift! Exclamation

I would like the terrain response (post 2007) but it seems that cars are over 28k in this bracket. Unable to justify spending so much at the moment.

Just a further question: the rr that I saw had a button that would increase/decreases the height of the car. Is this standard on all models of the vogue? It was not on another range that I saw so seem confused now? [Not sure of the exact name Embarassed ]

Anyway back to the drawing board....

I think it's just that the buttons are in different positions. On the older models there's a big round thing on the centre console, on the later cars you get buttons near the terrain response controls. For certain they all have the adjustable air suspension. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Thanks folks!

Perhaps I could increase my budget to find a 2007MY with the newer updated interior...

Just to be clear Gaz , do you mean the Petrol goes to Jag rather than BWM? I understood the TD6 was only ever BMW but I'm doubting myself now Confused 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

The Jag V8 (in NA and SC forms) replaced the BMW V8 Petrol, the TDV8 replaced the BMW Td6
