Suspension Fault Diagnosis - Best Budget Tool

Evening all!

My L322 has a suspension fault issue. Occasionally I get the suspension error message and sometimes it also drops to the bump stops and I have to crawl home. After a period of time you could raise and lower the suspension as normal. I had noticed before this happened that recently when parked overnight the suspension would lower front and rear on the drivers side to access height but remain at normal height in the passenger side. It would raise and level once the engine was started.

I checked the measurements of the drop from the top of the wheelarch to the centre of the hub and it is 455mm on the drivers side and 475mm on the passenger side when set in normal. However when I check the 4x4 info display it shows it as being level?

My guess is that either a sensor is out or it needs resetting/recalibrating?

What is a good diagnostic tool for diagnosing the issue that can also reset/recalibrate the suspension? Ideally this would be at the budget end of the price spectrum!

Thanks Joe - was hoping that there would be something a bit cheaper? Not sure I even need to recalibrate the suspension? Perhaps if it was a sensor and I replaced that and cleared the fault code maybe that would solve it. In that case maybe I could use something like the iCarsoft v2.0?

a non BT iiDTool is the best bang for buck for an L322 (imho). You can try the iCarsoft2.0 if you want...but then not sure why you asked if you have already made you mind up Twisted Evil Thumbs Up .

Thanks for your comments. I have no experience of using a diagnostic tool, are they simple to use? Will it allow me to recalibrate the suspension heights or does that job need something more advanced? Hi

I don't think the iCarSoft can calibrate the suspension? An IID Tool - either BT or non-BT can AFAIK.

As Joe says, the non-BT is the most economical option but you do sacrifice a bit of usability. The BT version is about as easy as you can make a diagnostic tool but it costs a lot more. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Very easy to use, probably about as user friendly as a diagnostic system can be. Plenty of support too if you do struggle. I'd keep an eye out for a used BT one if you can stretch to it, probably £300 or so, but I really wouldn't be without mine
