I Think you are allowed to have a vehicle running with a box of tricks if its an essential part of the vehicle operation, although mostly it seems illegal

The police and breakdown services do as it drains the battery too much when on a scene without the engine running.
I believe it keeps the car running with the key out of the ignition, but if you press any brakes, clutch or control it stops the engine (and prevents it being stolen)

Google "Amber Valley Run Lock"

The latest models will bring the car interior up to or down to (I think) 23c, applying heating or cooling as needed. I will try the app on mine later to validate my theory, as I have only ever used it in bitter cold situations.

Indeed, the vehicle must remain secure i.e. not able to be driven away by anyone other than the driver.

Same applies to some refrigerated HGV's that use a generator that runs off the PTO. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Ran it for 20 mins via the app before I got into the car this afternoon, and it had definitely cooled it. Thumbs up emoji.

Just seen this:

Quote:
In addition, Remote Premium includes:

REMOTE CLIMATE CONTROL
Prepare your Land Rover in advance by setting temperatures to keep you and all your passengers comfortable from the moment you step inside. It is powered by remotely starting the engine.*

*If the engine cannot be remotely started because of vehicle or market limitations, remote heating and venting is still possible if Timed Climate or Remote Park Heat is fitted. If neither is possible, the Remote Climate feature will not show in the InControl Remote smartphone app.

So is it that people don't have remote premium or its disabled but enabled on my wife's for some reason? Current: RR L322 2010
