Hi all

Tried remote climate using Incontrol the other day only to find that it wasnt blowing any cold air despite the A/C being on 18 when i left the car a few hours before. Ive no option to set the temperature in the app and it took ages to connect to the car, I assume both are due to it being a 65 plate car, but I thought it would atleast blow air at the temperature the A/C was set at, am I missing something or is it a crap set up

I dont think you can cool the air without the engine running, you need remote start. BMW i3 Electric Car

Ah ok that makes sense, so its more like remote heating then and no use in summer

Press and hold the unlock button for a bit longer than usual.
Opens all windows and sunroof - at least on my L322, not sure about the 405.

It's a great way to get the heat out of the car - I press it as soon as I can see the car in the carpark.

Only used the heating on mine, but I believe it 'cools' as well however it just sucks hot air out of the car. No air con obviously

Mine was deffo bellowing warm air into an already hot car, not what I was expecting

It just vents the air out, thereby reducing the effect of solar gain. It can’t cool it unless the a/c compressor is running, which it won’t without the engine.

Leave the roof blind closed then use global open once you’re close enough - that’s the best you can achieve

Loads of vehicles in US market have remote start I'm sure the Rangie will have it too. Maybe theres a country option buried away in it's ECU's. BMW i3 Electric Car

Well I was told by the MD, that it can be configured for other countries - but in GB due to fecked up EU rules we are not allowed to have an unattended car running 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

The wife’s disco sport has it with the 2017 wide screen so why wouldn’t the l405? Current: RR L322 2010

Agreed, you haven’t been able to leave a car running and unattended for 50+ years under UK law.

People love to hate and blame the EU, where most Laws were originally UK law plus we agree and have approved all EU law, also we have the most opt-outs of any country.

So are people saying that, unlike my wife disco sport, the L405 does not have remote start even if it uses the same remote service? Current: RR L322 2010
