Dynamic Response Fluid

Just been checking a few things on my "new" car before driving it Monday and it seems that the dynamic response fluid is well below minimum - in fact I can't see any at all. I assume it will be OK to drive it about 30miles to get some from the nearest Land Rover dealer I'm guessing it just won't work until the fluid is topped up. There are of course dire warnings about not driving the car or even starting it if the level fall below min - its a shame I didn't notice it last week as I could have just nipped out a got some. Obviously I have started the car a few times to say nothing of driving it 200 or so miles up from Kent.
Alternatively is there an equivalent I could just buy from my local car spares shop. Geoff

It’s kind of hard to tell - when I took the top off it seems dry but if I shone a torch behind the container, I could see fluid between the 2 lines, so all good Thumbs Up

The manual says it’s power steering fluid - Texaco cold climate PAS 33270 to be precise.

I’d assume that the car is fine to drive, but just won’t respond very dynamically if you throw it into a bend......

I'm not bored just excited, I'll be washing it again tomorrow, already done the wheels. I'll just go get some fluid Monday and top it up, I might try shining a torch through - the previous owner was unaware of any problem and it wasn't mentioned at the last service (January). As I say I dove it back from Kent and have started it up many times since - but of course not driven it on the road Whistle Geoff

Having convinced myself there was none in I also got the torch behind it and it looks full. Looking in through the top is not a good guide either as you can see components in the reservoir Geoff

Only on the SDV8’s Stan

Geoff - glad you have some fluid Thumbs Up

It was going dark when I checked, so I took a torch - in daylight I think I’d have been convinced it was empty too Embarassed

The reservoirs a terrible design you cant see into it to check the level and cant really see through it either, what were LR thinking.

Mine was a bit low and very dark colour when i bought mine, Im drawing it out and putting fresh in weekly until service time.
