Am I dumb? I cannot figure out the relevance of M17 CTR other than as a number plate.......

Laughing Laughing

Yes you are very dumb! It is clearly for a buyer who has a passion for the 1959 produced M17 Gas Mask (which replaced the M9 gas mask) who works at the Centre for Turbulance Research

isn't it obvious??

I just bought 2 similar ones for my car and SWMBO's car. It could mean -

M - May
17 - born on the 17th
C - Colin
T - Thomas
R - Richardson

The wife's is N24 L** and my one is S15 C**. Same principal as above and only £666 all in all. Don't really care if they're cheapy, hide the age.

But why would you not just go for R9 BLT or similar at same basic price there are tons of them? (if you just want to hide age surely 5 digits is better than 6)

True, I was looking at ones with 5 didgets but none of them had a meaning to us personally like our 6 didget ones.

I have G8 ELO purchased for £295 from DVLA

And have a guy trying to sell me EL10TTG which is tempting at £2k other than the fact I would have to spend £55k + to buy a 2010 or newer Ranger Rover to fit it on!
