My park break auto disengages when i go from P to D (or R or S), however it does not auto engage when going from any of the drive modes back to P

Not sure I can answer the original question of why the behaviour is different but I can confirm that I’ve experienced what’s described by the OP and have to say that I prefer the action of the Evoque (ie automatic operation of the EPB when engaging Park). 2016 SDV8 AB |

Carlos, have you tried shutting the car off in drive? I know the wife D4 only allows for auto function of the EPB when NOT selecting P... i,e. Leave car in D and press engine off button, car will automatically put the rotary dial into P after 3 or so seconds and this forces the EPB on... |

My 17MY auto engages the parking brake in P and disengages when I select D. |

my 2016 L405 does not engage the EPB when switching off engine whilst in D !

How do you know ? Does the dash light come on ? |

Yes Phil, the EPB has a CCF file for auto on/off ![]() |

Why wouldn’t this be the default setting ?
