Well it isn't mine which is the main thing - at least I can rest assured it wasn't you who bought the car as that TD6 was a Monte Carlo Blue and they were not too comon El - old to me = on it's second or 3rd owner.................. ![]() ![]() |

Still gearbox related, I called the local LR service centre and asked about getting the gear oil flushed/replaced, as expected, they said it's a filled for life gearbox, but would cost £250 for a full flush through and new filter, now that seems pretty expensive to me, especially when they're usually cheaper than the main dealer.

Did they say whether they flush the old oil out or just drain the sump? |

I said a gearbox flush. I had a bad experience on my old 850 T5 Volvo when the oil was just drained from the diff, the ATF was like water and I lost drive a few times, ended flushing it through so I want a full flush done on the RR as I don't want to cut corners. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Problem is there are very few mechanics who will go to the bother of completely flushing. The norm is drain, remove sump, change filter, replace sump, fill, run, drain refill and if you are really lucky but I have only known it to be done once a third drain and refill. |

Yeah I thought it would be a pretty involved job to do. The volvo was easy, the ATF cooler was part of the rad, simply remove a metal clip, pull the top hose out, put on a length of clear hose and start the car in neutral, pump about 2 litres out, top up, and repeat until nice a clean. Shame the RR isn't as simple. |

Dan_1984_UK had his done recently. Not sure if it was a full flush or not but was around £160 IIRC |
