ABS Bleed Diagnostic Tool

Hi,

After having a brake line burst and the master cylinder drain on my 2003 RR my brakes have never felt quite right. I've bled them at least 5 times but it always feels soft. The car still stops fine it just feels soft.

It seems likely that the ABS modulator needs bleeding. I've seen posts on X5 (which have the same DSC 5.7 system) forums that said they needed to be bled with diagnostics to get a proper pedal feel.

Does anyone know of any diagnostic tools which can perform this procedure? I emailed GAP and they said that the iidtool can't perform this procedure. The faultmate from BBS can but is pretty expensive.

Thanks

Have you tried running the HDC (find a nice long hill!) to get the ABS modulator "jiggling" - this is all the LR diagnostics do, as far as I know. You may need to bleed again afterwards. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
