Will try and keep this short!

Alternator packed up last weekend, 04, petrol, 129K miles, 2 owners full LR SH, MOT last September with no mention of corrosion.

Had it recovered to a local garage that I haven't used before but good reports.

Job done quickly and at a reasonable price but now the issue arose.

I stupidly let my wife pick it up and she was told, " get rid of it as soon as, it's rotten underneath and do not tow with it"

NOW, I called the chap and was told that the rear subframe looked really bad as if its spent its life in salt water??

Question is has anyone had an issue with rear subframe, I have done a search to no avail

Get underneath it and take a look. Might just need a good rub down and waxoyl... Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

They can get pretty scalely, get under your ff armed with a torch, safety glasses a screw driver and wire brush, you will know soon enough if it’s just scale or there are holes!!

Erm, tow bar doesn’t bolt to the rear subframe. Bolts to the bumper location and the bottom of the monocoque! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Check the toe arm inner mounts, these can go south over time. Had to have one on my 02 TD6 welded. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
