Unless physics doesn't work where you live it doesn't matter what mode the car is in - gravity will ensure the wheel is at the lowest point - that's the beauty of it. I have had countless arguments with people over this (some should know better too!). If you put it into offroad height you will get a better starting point and easier access to the jacking point - and also less effort until you actually start lifting the car! Just ensure the boot is open and the key is NOWHERE near the ignition. Having the boot open will not disable the EAS, needs to be a door .
