2015 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Kaikoura Stone

Sim cards

Hi,

My 2015 autobiography has a sim slot but no sim installed, I can see that installing one would give in car WiFi but are there any other benefits to adding a SIM card to the car. Am I missing out on some amazing features? Range Rover

InControl if you have it - you can check on your car remotely

Hi, all the in control and remote app seems to work ok without the sim in the car, maybe I’ll get a pre pay one and see if anything changes.

Hi Brian,

All you need to get is a data sim only for the car. There are some on amazon/eBay which come from 3 and they last about a 12 month. Well that’s what I used in my SVR and it worked just fine.

My simcard might be running out. I bought a 3 simcard on Amazon 12 months ago and it works ok, but not brilliantly.

Is it best to use a simcard as you would for a phone, i.e one that gives the best reception in your area. I am on EE and it is by far the best everywhere so should I be using an EE Data only card? All LR cars from 1984

I just plugged it into the sim slot if I remember rightly. All LR cars from 1984

Is it possible to link the RR to a SIM, mines only 3G with a sim inserted into the car but Ive got a 4G mobile wifi from HUAWEI, assume would be better for plug in devices to my rear entertainment for example
